gift or charity???

Sometimes ideas in my head don't quite work out. I liked the sketch of this quilt, but I am not sure about the final product...

I will be adding a green border, probably no wider than the sashing. Then binding in the same green.

So, is it a baby quilt for my niece due in June (with a boy) OR a charity quilt for my quilt guild...

I will try this idea again. Maybe with lighter colors and white background.

Happy Sewing,
Nancy

Hmmmm....to me it looks more like a quilt for an adult than a baby....but, of course, everyone has different taste. I think it's a great quilt for a man, actually......nothing fussy or frilly about it. I like it but not for a baby. (You asked, so I'm giving my opinion...hope that's okay!!!)

I agree with Pat - and I don't even know her :)

It doesn't have to be frilly, but maybe more "baby". Of course it can't be too frilly for this mommy :) I know how you feel about "themes", but maybe something in the colors of the bedding would be better. I'll send you the link in an email.

I think Pat said it right. A man would love this quilt.

I love your Christmas quilt number 1 & 7 and sisters birthday quilt.

Found you from your comment on my blog :-)

Is this a trick post? HMMMM. I vote for the charity...even with drool on it I think it still wouldn't look like a baby quilt, LOL! It's not the pattern, it's the colors. Not sure you were looking for "opinions" but, you know me,I always have something to say, LOL~

Nancy, I think you could easily go either way with it. Either way the recipient would be proud to own it—and since it is a baby sized quilt—who knows, maybe you’ll be helping them develop their love of a color based on the quilt. Wouldn’t that be neat? But it better be a boy then--as I agree with Pat (and the others) the color scheme definitely makes this a man's quilt--Not the design, the color palette or the patterns of the fabric.~Shelly~
